The 15 years old malware called Stantinko Malware or Stantinko Botnet, has infected more than 500 thousands of Windows users.
Security researchers from ESET are having difficulties in differentiating whether it is part of adware or spyware, because of Stantinko’s nature of injecting various ads into browser extensions such as Teddy Protection and The Safe Surfing.
What makes Stantinko dangerous is it could interject bot to your google search and is able to brute force and infect websites that are using Wordpress or Joomla.
